A travel blog by a Ugandan female, from the world.

Hello 2018! I have so many thoughts and intentions for this year and I’m so glad it is here. 2017 was an awesome year for me and I don’t take that lightly. I’m very grateful. I believe the awesomeness of 2017 was a stepping stone, prepping me for greater things to come.

I want to channel that greatness and be very deliberate about what I do with it. Deliberate about where I put my energy, deliberate about what exactly it is I am out to achieve. Deliberate about what my life will look like twenty years from now, for instance. To every detail – where I will be, what I will have, how I will feel.

Life definitely doesn’t always go as planned. I’m very aware of that (I’ve been reminded a few times by good ol’ life, trust me!) however, I’ll undoubtedly always aspire to something great. If that great something doesn’t happen, at least I did not deny myself the joy of looking forward to it (..and she smiles to herself as she daydreams).

There are two major thoughts and intentions that have been dominant on my mind recently. I want to carry these thoughts and intentions through 2018 and beyond.

Share and Inspire more

Sharing relates hugely to this blog and the direction that I see us gearing towards. As you might have noticed (at least I hope you have), the content here is completely centred around travel, aimed at encouraging you to travel more through sharing travel stories and experiences. My mission in life is to inspire everyone I meet (online and offline) and everyone I know to live life by design and not by default. This is my core and this transcends travel. Travel plays a huge role in all of it, for me personally. However, travel is how I have chosen to design my life and enrich my world. Meeting new people and discovering the unending beauty that surrounds us, stepping out of the cocoon of the familiar, stretching my boundaries and trying new things is how I switch the default setting off and live more from a place of intent.

Sharing and inspiring more to me means writing about intentional living and about designing one’s life in general. This could relate to several areas like leadership, service, giving back and transforming the world that we live in. #ItIsPossible

Sharing also correlates with how frequently I post. Hence, look out for a lot more content this year, especially in this section 😉

Love more

This relates to the in-betweens, the nitty gritty in the everyday, the somewhat default potions of my life (because there will be potions of both – the adventurous, the mundane, the adventurous, the mundane. More on that another time). There is a quote by someone that I am constantly reminding myself of, “we cannot change people, we can only love them” and it is so true. I want to be deliberate about love and about loving (and no, I am not talking about romance here). I mean genuinely loving all human beings. Be it family members that are hard to get along with (you definitely know what I mean) or that person you sort of bump into that is extra kind to you for no reason. I want to be more of the latter. The best example of love for me is the love of God. I intend to be so full of God’s love that it literally bursts out of me and splashes all over unsuspecting humans (forgive the melodrama).

Those are predominantly my thoughts and intentions for the new year. I’m aware that in order to share, inspire and love more, I must continuously work on improving myself. This includes surrounding myself with positivity, filling my mind with good books and motivational audios as well as nurturing my body and spirit.

I’m so excited for this year! Aren’t you?

What are your dominant thoughts and intentions for the new year? Do share in the comments section. Xx

PS: The picture above was taken at the end of 2017 on a trip to Fort Portal. it’s a beautiful place in Western Uganda. I share more in the video below.
